Rack N' Roll
"Recorded by me with a forgotten-brand stereo cassette recorder on the floor at Rack N' Roll, Colorado Springs, CO. Sound isn't perfect, but it's VERY listenable. Couple glitches on the first track "Hey You" but otherwise very good set. The club was tiny, I don't remember there being more than a couple dozen people there! The tiny audience was very vocal though, supporting this great Raleigh, NC jangly indiepop band (who are STILL doing their thing today!). I haven't heard any of the live Connells sets circulating so I've nothing to compare this recording to, but if you can live with the fact this wasn't recorded with pro gear, don't complain and grab this excellent show! Doug MacMillan (vocals) is very chatty here as well, and isn't afraid to ask for plenty more drinks onstage either..."
